Today was a day of dodging the showers. Summer is well and truly over, but that means a new palette for my art. Payne's grey, olive green, a wide array of ochres and Indian reds. As the bracken dies back and the leaves are falling, the remaning colours in the landscape are richly illuminated against the muted greys and greens.

Sometimes I have a yearning to climb up high and really stretch my lungs. Walking the South West Coast Path is exhilirating with the reward of stunning views. I took the time to contemplate the vastness and beauty of the environment I was in, and the industrial history of the area.

A busy weekend

Today’s gorgeous weather brought the beach to life with surfers, families, and dog walkers enjoying the autumn sunshine. I brought along my tiny watercolour set for a couple of quick sketches. Afterwards, we explored a beautiful three-mile circular walk near Helston, navigating mud and streams—though I ended up with wet feet!

I recently visited Kynance Cove on Cornwall's South West coast. As I descended the rocky path, I paused by a small stream, listening to its gentle trickle. Surrounded by choughs, distant cattle, and crashing waves, I found bliss in the moment, fully embracing the beauty of nature around me.
