The First Sunflower
DESCRIPTION
This tiny little dwarf sunflower was the first one to emerge from a Mothers’ Day gift from my son. After it started to wither away, I couldn’t bear to part with it. I decided to paint it, therefore preserving it beyond its physical life. In the words of Frida Kahlo “I paint flowers so they will not die”, this sentiment is echoed in this watercolour painting.
